Cobhams Asuquo was born on the 6th of January, 1981. He grew up in military barracks in Jos, Plateau State with his parents. Due to his father's job in the army, they were later posted Lagos, where they lived at the Ikeja Military Cantonment.
At the age of 10, he started his primary school education at the Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially Sighted Children in Lagos. He also did his secondary education at Lagos State, before proceeding to the University of Lagos where he gained admission to study Law. He studied law at UniLag for three years before opting out.

Career

Cobhams Asuquo has always had a thing for music since his childhood. As a kid, he would play blues and whistle along. He also revealed that the sounds of the radio and a piano used to make him happy.
He makes different genres of music, including rock, reggae, jazz or even hip hop, and he ensures all his songs have a message.
In 2005, he signed a deal with Sony ATV London as a songwriter. In 206, after working with a local label, Questionmark Entertainment as the Head of Audio Productions, he set up his own recording facility.
He used to be the CEO/ Head of Productions of CAMP (Cobhams Asuquo Music Productions), a company he established in 2008. CAMP produced music stars like  Stan Iyke, Bez Idakula, and Cobhams himself.
In 2016, Cobhams established Vintage Gray Media, an all-round entertainment company focused on discovering, nurturing and bringing to light new talented artistes. At Vintage Gray Media, they also create different forms of audio content for corporations and the media.

Apart from being a producer, Cobhams Asuquo is also a talented songwriter. He wrote/co-wrote several songs on the album, including the hit singles, Fire on the Mountain, Jailer, and Bibanke. 

He is also the producer of the 2016 edition of the Rhythm Unplugged show, Hennessy Artistry/R’N’B, and the One Africa Music Fest concert that took place in Barclays Center, New York.
He has arranged music and performed with bands at international music events such as:
• AFA Sponsored French Cultural Center Concert (with Asa and Angelique Kidjo)
• AFA Sponsored French Cultural Center Concert in Johannesburg, South Africa
• The Harare International Festival of Arts
• Nigeria Week in Paris
• He also performed at the launch of MTV’s 100th channel, MTV Base Africa at Abuja, Nigeria
• In 2016, he started a digital radio countdown show Cobhams Top 12. The show counts down the hottest African/Nigerian songs that Asuquo thinks the Nigerian audience should be listening to.

Personal Life

Cobhams Asuquo got married to Ojuolape Veronica Olukanni on the 2nd of December, 2010. They have two children together. Cobhams' wife revealed in an interview that David, their first son was also born visually impaired like his father.

Cobhams Asuquo is one of the richest artistes in Nigeria. He has worked with several A-list singers like Banky-W, Timi Dakolo and others. In 2015, he signed a new management deal with media company, Upfront and Personal Global Management Consultants (UPGMC).
