Prior to his venturing into politics, Sirika Hadi worked as a pilot. He was also a member of the House of Representative (2003 2007) and Senate, representing Katsina North Senatorial District under the platform of Congress for Progressive Change.
While at the senate, he held the position of (Vice-Chairman) of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Committee set by the Nigerian Senate.
Sirika Hadi joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) after a merger between Action Congress of Nigeria, the All Nigeria Peoples Party, and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
In 2015, he announced in Daura that Muhammadu Buhari has been convinced to run for President in the 2015 general election by elders of the party.
Sirika Hadi was appointed minister for State on Aviation in 2015 after President Buhari emerged winner in the presidential election. He held the post until 2019 when he was again, reappointed after President Buhari won his re-election bid for the second term.
