Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba was born on the 20th of August, 1967 at Umuezeala Nsu in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. After completing his elementary and secondary education, he gained admission to study law at the Imo State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB).
He further proceeded to the University of Lagos for his Master of Laws(LLM) degree, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law from the University of Jos. He was called to the Nigerian bar in 1989.

Career

Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba served as a member representing the Okigwe North Federal House of Representatives in the House of Representatives between 1999 – 2003. During the period, he was the committee chairman on Land, Housing and works.

He further contested for Imo governorship on the platform of The All People's Party (APP) in 2003 and 2007. He also contested again in 2011 but this time, under the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) party.

He was one of the founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In fact, he served as the secretary of the Constitution Drafting Committee that produced the Constitution of the merger committee to form the APC in 2013.

In 2017, he got appointed as the Chairman of Tertiary Education Trust Fund, a position he held until 2019 when he got re-elected as a member representing Ehimembano/Ihiteuboma/Obowo Federal Constituency of Imo State at the House of Representatives under Accord Party.
NOTE: Hon. Nwajiuba was sacked as a House of Reps. member after the Court of Appeal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to issue the Certificate of  Return to Chike Okafor of the APC. source

He returned back to the ruling APC shortly after his nomination as the Minister of State for Education of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and subsequent screening by the Senate.
