Top 3 Best Premier League Signings Of The January Transfer Window
The Premier League season is now officially over so we can evaluate what clubs did the best deals during the January transfer window and what transfers can be considered successful ones.
In total, there were 479 deals concluded by clubs from the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1.
Premier League clubs alone spent a total of £230m during the January 2020 transfer window, the second highest ever, surpassing last year’s total of £180m. Below, you can find the three best transfer deals of January 2020 done Premier League clubs.

• Sander Berge

Sheffield United broke its club transfer record to sign Sander Berge from Genk last winter when the Norway international signed a four-and-a-half-year deal paying £22 million, breaking the £20m they paid for Oli McBurnie last summer. In 14 appearances, the 22-year-old scored one goal and provided one assist.
Berge earned his move to the Premier League because of his impressive performances for Belgian club Genk in the Belgian first division and the Champions League. Half a season later, Sander Berge is already looking to be an excellent signing for Sheffield United. The central midfielder has started in all of Sheffield United’s 14 Premier League games since his debut and was substituted in only two of them.

• Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United's prospects of Champions League qualification looked bleak at the beginning of the year, but Fernandes' arrival from Sporting Lisbon kicked off a remarkable 19-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, with Man United finishing third after beating Leicester City in the final game. Before the arrival of the Portugal international, United sat six points off Chelsea and 14 off Leicester before the signing of Fernandes.
With his 8 goals and 7 assists in the Premier League, the former Sporting Lisboa player was a big reason behind the success of the Red Devils. Together with Pogba, United finally has a duo in the midfield considered something to hold onto. Both players have contrasting qualities that complement each other and Ole Gunnar Solskjær seems to have finally found the missing link in his squad having a team that can compete for silverware.

• Steven Bergwijn

Before the break caused by the pandemic, Spurs signed three players in the January transfer window, one of them being Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven. Spurs needed some reinforcement in the attack after Christian Eriksen left for Inter and Harry Kane was out injured and found their man in Steven Bergwijn. Bergwijn is a great dribbler, averages 5.86 dribbles a match, and will have no problem having the Tottenham fans on his side
The Dutch international scored 14 goals in 33 Eredivisie games last season and 5 in 16 appearances this season and was ready to move to a bigger club. The main position of Bergwijn is the left-wing but he can play on the right side of the pitch and as a striker too.
With Spurs, the 22-year-old scored 3 goals in 14 games. Half a year later, the transfer of the 9 times capped Dutch international looks like a success for Tottenham Hotspur, who only having paid £27.00m in fees.
