Joshua Iginla was born on the 21st of May, 1969 in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State to Muslim parents. In an interview, the Abuja based cleric revealed that he was treated like an outcast after his conversion, citing that his father, Lasisi Iginla wasn't happy with the decision.He, however, kept on pushing despite the difficulties. At the early stage of his repentance, he was a member of the Overcomer Prevailing Evangelical Ministry (OPEM), Ibadan. He started his evangelistic ministry by preaching the gospel in villages and local schools. After some years of preaching the gospel, he went on to start his own ministry.
In Pastor Joshua Iginla's early period of living at Abuja, he served as an assistant to Pastor Reverend. Joseph Yusuf Haruna before starting up the Champions Royal Assembly, where he currently serves as the senior pastor. He reportedly started the church with ₦70,000 that was given to him by Reverend Gbenga.
In the early days of the Champions Royal Assembly, services were held in an abandoned house in Abuja, but by God's grace, the church has grown over the years to one of the biggest churches in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
