Sabo Nanono was born on the 11th of April, 1946 in Gabasawa Local government area of Kano State. He had his primary education at Zakirai Special Primary School and Gwarzo Primary School, all in Kano State.After obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate, he proceeded to the Birnin Kudu Secondary School for his secondary education, He also schooled at Government College Kano.
Nanono further gained admission to study at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained Bachelor Degree in Business Administration in the year 1972.
In 1977, he obtained his Master’s Degree in public policy and Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Madison USA.
