Mohammed Indimi is a Nigerian entrepreneur, philanthropist and the founder/chairman of Oriental Energy Resources (OER). Oriental Energy Resources is a privately-held Nigerian oil exploration and production company founded in 1990. It has since its establishment, expanded its portfolio and currently has three assets under development in offshore Nigeria. These include the Ebok Field (OML 67), Okwok Field (OML 67) and OML 115.

Mohammed Indimi Biography and Early Life
Mohammed Indimi was born on the 12th of August, 1947 in Maiduguri the capital of Borno State, Nigeria. His father, Alhaji Mamman Kurundu (late) was also a renowned businessman who traded in hides and skins.Career
Mohammed Indimi started his business career at a very young age of 10. Then he normally followed his Dad to the market. Before he reached 16, he had already mastered the trade and became independent. He started his business with a 100 pounds loan he collected from his friend Alhaji Umar Tela.In 1973, he ventured into yet another business of selling flours. During that period, there was a great shortage of flour in Maiduguri and the state government were importing and selling bags of flours to the locals at reduced rates.
While Maiduguri was in lack of flour, Sokoto had excess flours to sell so Indimi saw a great business opportunity ahead. He contacted the Chief Commercial Officer of the Ministry of Commerce for Sokoto State who was in charge of the sale, bargained and bought 50,000 bags of flour which he sold at Maiduguri, making huge profits from the transactions.
He further engaged in the buying and selling of industrial water pumps from Florida for the completion of a pumping station which was being built at the South Chad Irrigation Project during Olusegun Obasanjo’s first regime. The business also recorded huge success and he, in fact, built the first pump factory in Maiduguri within six years of running.
In 1990, Indimi got an oil prospecting license granted by the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida regime. He established an oil and gas firm named Oriental Energy Resources (OER). According to the official website, the company has expanded its portfolio and currently has three assets under development in offshore Nigeria. These include the Ebok Field (OML 67), Okwok Field (OML 67) and OML 115.
Mohammed Indimi has served as chairman and board member of several companies including Jaiz Bank, Arab Contractors O.A.O Nigeria Limited and the International African University of Sudan.
Indimi is married to Fatima Mustapha Haruna. He has 20 children including Adama, Ahmad, Ameena, Amina, Amouna, Hauwa, Ibrahim, Jibrila, Mairiam, Meraia, Mustapha, Yakolo and Rukayat.
Philanthropy
Mohammed Indimi established the Muhammadu Indimi Foundation (MIF) with the primary goal of tackling the issue of poverty, hunger, illiteracy and health challenges in the Northern part of the country. He has through the foundation, sponsored native of Borno state to study at the International University of Africa (IUA) on scholarship in Sudan. Muhammadu Indimi Foundation (MIF) has also empowered and supported affected by the Boko Haram crisis in the North East.He also through the foundation, awarded over 470 scholarships in Akwa Ibom State and donated a multi-million-dollar International Business Centre to Lynn University in the USA.
