Among the list is the Covenant University which is also currently sitting as the best private university in the continent after American University Of Cairo slipped 200 places down the ranking.
The ranking followed 5 pillars in which the Universities where rigorously measured on; Teaching, Research, Citations, Industry Income and Internationalisation.
In this years ranking;
• Covenant University emerged no 1 in Nigeria and joint no 4th in Africa.• University of Ibadan emerged no 2 in Nigeria and joint 8th in Africa.
• Unilag broke into the ranking for the first time, surpassing the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 3rd place in Nigeria and 18th in Africa.
• UNN sits at fourth place in Nigeria with 26th in Africa.
Obafemi Awolowo Univrsity (OAU) however failed in its bid to get included this year.
