₦2.3trillion naira was totally released by the Federal Government out of which, ₦75bn naira was allocated to the MSMEs. The registration for the payroll started on Monday 22nd September 2020 by 10pm for the educational institutions. The portal will open for business in the hospitality on 25th September 2020 by 12am while the portal will be available for business in the other sectors from 28th September 2020 by 12am. The first set of business to apply for the business is the educational institutions. This will be followed by the MSMEs in the hospitality institutions (like hotels).

The BVN of the CEO should be readily available.
• The business must have staff strength minimum of 3.
• The business must be owned by a Nigerian.
• The business must operate in Nigeria.
• The tax identification number-TIN (optional).
• Corporate account details.
• Proof of previous payroll to the employees.
For a self-employed business to qualify to access this fund; they must be a service provider in the transport sector like Bus/Taxi, hailing services like Uber/Taxify and mechanics. Artisans like electricians, plumbers are also eligible for this fund. Tailors, hairdressers, make-up artists and other self-employed business in the similar milieu also qualify to apply for this Payroll support.

You can see that they are three categories listed. The MSMEs payroll support is available for jobs and local businesses. The MSME grant provides grants to sectors in the manufacturing, hospitality etc. while the Guaranteed Offtake will take charge of the micro and small businesses alike. Because the only tab available at the time of this post is the payroll support, I am going to use it for illustration purposes.
Now that you have gathered all the details required of you for the application, it is time to enter your details. Kindly complete the form and follow the prompts. Once the form is completed, you will have to wait for like 2-5minutes to get the confirmation code. Endeavour to stay logged in the website while making waiting for the confirmation.
