Ada Ameh was born on the 15th of May in Ajegunle, Lagos State, Nigeria, but she originally hails from Idoma in Benue State. She had her primary and secondary education at Lagos State but dropped out at the age of 14.She joined the Nollywood industry in 1995 but debuted as an actress in 1996, in the movie 'Domitila' where she played the character, Anita. The movie, which was produced and directed by Zeb Ejiro recorded massive success and received several awards.
Ameh is also notably known for her role as Emu in the award-winning Nigerian TV series titled 'The Johnsons'. She acts alongside other top Nollywood stars like Chinedu Ikedieze, Charles Inojie and Olumide Oworu.

Ada Ameh lost her only daughter, Aladi Godgifts Ameh in October 2020. She made the announcement on her verified Instagram page but didn't disclose the cause of the date or the date the incidence happened.
