Tunde Bakare was born on the 11th of November, 1954 to the family of Late Pa Sanni Adekunle Bakare and Abigail Eebudola Bakare in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria). Though born into a Muslim family, Tunde converted to Christainity in September 1974 after encountering the Lord Jesus Christ.Bakare had his primary education at All Saints Primary School, Kemta, Abeokuta, after which he enrolled at the Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta for his secondary education. In 1977, he gained admission to study Law at the prestigious University of Lagos (UniLag), graduating in 1980. He proceeded for his compulsory NYSC program, after which he was called to the bar in 1981.
He was in 1996, honored with a Doctor of Ministry degree by the Indiana Christian University in recognition of his years of exploits and global impact in the ministry.
Career and Politics
Tunde Bakare is a renowned lawyer, pastor and politician. He established his own law firm Tunde Bakare & Co (El-Shaddai Chambers) in October 1984.
In May 1988, Tunde was called into ministry and started serving God at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). He in fact, pioneered the 1st Model parish of the church. He subsequently founded The Latter Rain Assembly (End-Time Church), where he is currently serving as the Overseer.
Dr. Bakare currently presides over Global Apostolic Impact Network (GAIN), a network of churches, ministries and kingdom businesses committed to advancing the Kingdom of God on earth. He also serves as the President of Latter Rain Ministries, Inc. (Church Development Center) in Atlanta, GA, USA.
He is also the founder of the International Centre for Reconstruction and Development (ICRD) and convener of the Save Nigeria Group (SNG).
Dr. Tunde Bakare is also very active in politics and was Muhammadu Buhari's running mate in the 2011 Nigerian presidential election on the platform of The Congress for Progressive Change (CPC). He announced that he'd be running for presidency in 2023, after the expiration of Muhammadu Buhari's second term.
Philantropy
Dr Tunde Bakare established The Family Heritage Foundation as a way of giving back to humanity. The foundation is focused on giving scholarships to the less privileged students both within and outside the shores of Nigeria.

Tunde Bakare is happily married to Layide Bakare and the union is blessed with five children. Their first daughter, Olubunmi who is a graduate of Political Science from the Emory University, Atlanta, United States got married her fiancé, Olaoluwa Fabode in 2015.
The event, which was small and exclusive was graced by MAVIN artist, Korede Bello, former education minister Oby Ezekwesili, Dr Joe Odumakin and a host of other dignitaries.
